Despite advances in battery technology in recent years, many brands still do not offer as long range of electric vehicles as gasoline vehicles. Renault, one of the ambitious brands of the electric car ecosystem, gives a different perspective to this issue with its new concept vehicle Morphoz. Morphoz, the 100 percent electric car concept of the French brand, offers a battery of 40 kWh for the city use mode. The vehicle, which has an additional battery expansion pack of 50 kWh for relatively long distance trips, thus offers a full driving range of 700 kilometers in travel mode. Renault says that while the vehicle is in travel mode, it extends 20 cm to accommodate the extra battery in the body and make the cabin more comfortable for a long journey. The French brand is considering building special battery replacement centers for this process in the future. These centers, which are predicted to have fully autonomous technology, will be able to replace the batteries quickly without any human intervention. Morphoz, which is about 4.4 meters long in the city mode, extends up to 4.6 meters with its extra battery capacity. Thus, in addition to increasing the driving range, the vehicle offers more legroom for both luggage and passengers. Renault was going to exhibit its new electric car concept Morphoz in the Geneva Motor Show in 2020, which will be held in the capital of Switzerland, but the event was canceled due to the corona virus epidemic that affected the whole world. The vehicle, built on the CMF-EV platform shared between Renault, Nissan and Mitsubishi, will likely remain a concept vehicle, but still puts an impressive picture for the future of the automotive industry with its futuristic design and innovative solution for battery.
