Earlier this week, Microsoft applied for a patent for a new cryptocurrency mining system. This system enables people to do the complex data processing process without thinking about the energy they produce with physical activities. Although the patent application has focused on specific details, basically, when we look at it, it is based on the principle of giving people a crypto prize based on their physical activities. Data processing potential at any time Activities such as jogging, playing games or attending a yoga class are part of our daily lives. During these continuous activities, data can emerge that this complex system can solve. Although the system seems to be out of sci-fi movies on paper, it actually has quite simple basics. Vehicles such as smart watches and phones can track the movements we do during the day. Our mobile devices also share information with other applications. Similarly, Microsoft enables to use information from these sensors. For example, the high pulse that occurs when you accelerate your pulse while doing sports allows you to solve questions more quickly. Solving complex processes with physical force Microsoft is introducing the new patent, saying, “Instead of traditional cryptocurrency systems using massive computer networks, data from bodily activities can be proof of work and as such a user can unconsciously calculate a difficult question to solve.” It is not known whether this patent idea is real or not. In addition, such a system will of course cause many people to come up with questions on many issues, especially privacy. Microsoft will probably use Azure Blockchain for this system. For many people, the idea of making money from the data they already produce will be very attractive.
