The negative point, however, is due to the Android system that does not have Google services and technologies, as decided by the United States government. Check the comparison of the models in the following lines. Design and canvas Unlike the more expensive models, such as the Huawei P40 Pro and P40 Pro Plus, the Huawei P40 has a flat and curved screen on the sides – just like the Galaxy S20, which lost the feature in this generation. Other similarities are the cameras allocated in a dedicated area at the rear and the selfies camera, housed within the screen. As for the quality shown on the display, both should deliver good results despite Samsung’s superior numbers. While the P40 has a 6.1 inch Full HD + OLED display (2340 x 1080 pixels), the South Korean rival brings a 6.2 inch Quad HD + Dynamic AMOLED panel (3200 x 1440 pixels). In colors, the Huawei phone has options in white (Ice White), blue (Deep Sea Blue), silver (Silver Frost), gold (Blush Gold) and black (Black). Samsung was launched in gray, blue and pink. Cameras The Huawei P40 is a giant when it comes to the camera. The main differential of the model is that the main sensor of 50 MP (wide, aperture f / 1.9) has the largest size on the market, measuring 1 / 1.28 inch. In theory, this is the smartphone with the greatest ability to capture light today, which should generate excellent images even in dark environments. The extra sensors are a 16 MP (f / 2.2) ultra wide and another 8 MP (f / 2.4) telephoto lens with 3x zoom, totaling three rear cameras. Another highlight is enhanced artificial intelligence (AI), which indicates which is the best image from the gallery to publish on social networks. The Galaxy S20 also comes standard with a triple camera: one with 12 MP of resolution (26 mm, aperture f / 1.8), an ultra wide of 12 MP to capture wider angles (f / 2.2), and another with telephoto lens and 64 MP (f / 2.0) sensor, capable of 3x optical zoom. For selfies, the Huawei P40 has a 32 MP (f / 2.0) camera, while the Galaxy S20 records images up to 10 MP (f / 2.2). Processor and storage In terms of performance, both belong to the premium cell phone segment and should run most apps and games today. In the Huawei phone the processor is the Kirin 990 (octa-core up to 2.8 GHz), made by itself and optimized for the 5G internet. The Galaxy S20 chipset, on the other hand, is the Exynos 990, also of its own manufacture and with a speed of up to 2.7 GHz. The Samsung model also features 8 GB RAM, the same capacity as the Chinese phone. Both also share 128 GB of internal storage, with the possibility of expansion via microSD. Drums The Galaxy S20 brings a battery of 4,000 mAh against 3,800 mAh in the P40. Despite the difference, the two smartphones should have similar performance. The promise, in both cases, is that cell phones arrive by the end of the day with a charge. They even have fast loading support. The Galaxy S20, however, stands out for Wireless PowerShare, which allows you to charge other wireless devices just by touching the back of the phone. Software and resources The two smartphones leave the factory with modified versions of Android 10, but with a fundamental difference: due to a determination of the US government, Huawei cannot run Google applications on the brand’s devices. This means that it does not have the Google Play Store or other services and apps, such as Google Maps, YouTube and Gmail. Another negative point for the Huawei phone is the IP53 only certification, which means that it cannot be dipped. The Galaxy S20 has IP68 protection, the most advanced today. As for unlocking, both have a fingerprint reader integrated into the screen itself. Pricing and availability The Huawei P40 arrives in Europe on April 7 for 799 euros, about R $ 4,535 in direct conversion and without taxes. There is no information about the arrival of the model on Brazilian soil. The Galaxy S20 arrived in the country in March with a suggested price starting at R $ 5,499.
