In a Los Angeles Times report, Paramount Drive-In managers revealed that ticket sales have nearly doubled in the past few days. Located in Lakewood, California, this is one of just over 300 drive-in theaters in the USA. Despite the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention advising citizens to avoid groups of more than 50 people, the space is still safe. According to the owners, the viewer does not even need to get out of the car to watch the movies in certain locations. “I don’t think we’re in the personal encounter category,” replied Doug Mercille, owner of a Drive-In in Missouri. “In all the meeting places, people are confined to others. Here, they have their own individual car space ”. That’s because, of course, there is little personal contact between employees and customers. However, some spaces are taking certain actions to minimize contact. For example, cashier and parking staff are wearing gloves. In addition, they advise that the cars are not directly positioned next to each other. Apparently, outdoor sessions have become an excellent form of entertainment for the American public in such difficult times. Undoubtedly, a way to entertain children in quarantine and escape a little from the paranoia caused by the coronavirus.
